Cookie Policy

Last updated: [effective date to be set on launch — to be confirmed before launch]

This Cookie Policy explains how WESLAMIC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website (www.weslamic.com) and our checkout store (shop.weslamic.com). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information more broadly.

By continuing to use our site, or by accepting cookies through our consent banner, you agree to the use of cookies as described here, except for strictly necessary cookies, which do not require your consent.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide reporting and personalization. We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags, software development kits (SDKs), and local storage. In this policy, we refer to all of these collectively as “cookies.”

Cookies may be set by us (first-party cookies) or by third parties whose services we use, such as analytics and advertising providers (third-party cookies). Cookies may last only for your browsing session (session cookies) or remain on your device for a set period (persistent cookies).

The Categories of Cookies We Use

We group cookies into four categories. Only strictly necessary cookies are always active; all others are set only where you have given consent (or, in opt-out regions, where you have not opted out).

1. Strictly Necessary Cookies (always active)

These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as logging in, adding items to your cart, or proceeding to checkout. Without them, the Services cannot be provided.

  • Purpose: security, load balancing, session management, shopping cart, checkout, and consent-preference storage.

  • Typical providers: WESLAMIC (first-party), Framer (storefront hosting), Shopify (checkout on shop.weslamic.com).

  • Retention: session to 12 months. [exact cookie names and durations against live platform config — to be confirmed before launch]

  • Consent: not required (necessary for the service you requested).

2. Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your language, region, currency, or recently viewed products.

  • Purpose: remember preferences and improve usability.

  • Typical providers: WESLAMIC (first-party); [third-party functional scripts, e.g. support/reviews widgets — to be confirmed before launch]

  • Retention: session to 12 months.

  • Consent: opt-in in the EU/EEA/UK; on by default with opt-out in the US (see “Your Choices by Region”).

3. Analytics / Performance Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors use our site so we can measure and improve performance.

  • Purpose: count visits and traffic sources, see which pages are most and least popular, and understand how visitors move around the site.

  • Typical providers: Google Analytics 4 (GA4); [other analytics tools, if any — to be confirmed before launch]

  • Retention: up to 24 months (GA4 default). [actual configured retention — to be confirmed before launch]

  • Consent: opt-in in the EU/EEA/UK; on by default with opt-out in the US.

4. Marketing / Advertising Cookies

These cookies are used to deliver advertising relevant to you and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, including on third-party platforms.

  • Purpose: build a profile of your interests, show you relevant ads, measure ad performance (conversions), and limit how many times you see an ad.

  • Typical providers: Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram), Google Ads / Google remarketing; [other ad platforms, e.g. TikTok Pixel, if enabled — to be confirmed before launch]

  • Retention: up to 13 months (typical ad-platform default).

  • Consent: opt-in in the EU/EEA/UK; on by default with opt-out in the US.

The specific cookie names, providers, and retention periods above are being finalized against our live tag configuration; a full cookie schedule will replace these examples before launch.

How We Use Analytics and Advertising Tools

To be transparent about the third-party tools that rely on cookies:

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4): measures site traffic and usage. GA4 sets analytics cookies and processes data on our behalf. You can also install Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

  • Meta Pixel: measures the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and helps us show relevant ads. It is loaded only after you consent to marketing cookies (in opt-in regions).

  • Google Consent Mode: we use Google Consent Mode so that Google tags (GA4 and Google Ads) adjust their behavior based on your consent choices. When you decline analytics or advertising cookies, these tags switch to a consent-aware mode that does not set the corresponding cookies. [confirm Consent Mode v2 is correctly deployed — to be confirmed before launch]

Your Choices: How to Accept, Reject, or Withdraw Consent

You are in control of non-essential cookies:

  1. Consent banner. When you first visit our site, you will see a cookie banner where you can Accept all, Reject all (non-essential), or Manage preferences by category.

  2. Change your mind anytime. You can reopen the preference center at any time using the “Cookie Preferences” link in our website footer, and turn categories on or off. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

  3. Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site (such as checkout) from working.

  4. Global Privacy Control (GPC). In regions where it applies, we honor the GPC browser signal as an opt-out of the sale/sharing of personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Your Choices by Region (Opt-in vs. Opt-out)

Consent rules differ by where you live, and our banner adapts accordingly:

  • European Union, EEA, and United Kingdom — opt-in. Non-essential cookies (functional, analytics, and marketing) are not set until you give consent. Until you make a choice, only strictly necessary cookies run.

  • United States — opt-out. Depending on your state, non-essential cookies may be active by default, and you have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising, including via the “Cookie Preferences” link and the Global Privacy Control signal.

  • Other regions. We apply the standard that is most protective and appropriate for your location.

Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as our cookies, tools, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
